Worn in USA began with the creation of a single denim wall tapestry using recycled denim blue jeans cut into over 900 pieces. No two pairs of previously used denim blue jeans have exactly the same color. Once assembled and hung the random pattern created a spectrum of blue colors that produced a peaceful mood. A unique business with a unique product was born!
Today Worn in USA creations are used as Tapestries, Bed Comforters, Floor Coverings, and some as all three in same room!. All of our creations are made from used denim jean pants previously worn in the United States of America. So the name came easy, “Worn in USA”!
Used Denim Jeans are collected, washed, and sorted. Inspection of each pair of jeans is important with many pairs having rips or stains which cannot be used. Even old jeans in the worst condition usually have at least a few areas that can be used.
After Sorting Denim Jeans are hand cut into pieces. These pieces vary in size with maximum efficiency applied to yield the most pieces for each pair of jeans.
Denim pieces are then Over-locked or Serged to prevent edge fraying. At this point sufficient pieces are collected and arranged and our artistic process begins. Each creation is unique!
Artistic Process is Planned and Developed into Our Creations. Luxury is not an illusion as all of our unique artistic creations take countless hours and great care.
After Completion we do a final inspection to insure the highest quality and that the original concept for the creation has been achieved.
