Artistic Process

Our creations use random patterns that are easy on the eye with elegance, originality, and utility. All are unique with a palette of blue denim shades only possible using worn denim jeans. Worn denim jeans provide subtle shade differences as the color of no two worn pair of used denim jeans are exactly alike.

Artistically we have evolved over time with the usage of different shapes and the way we use colors. Square patterns and intentional randomness is still applied to some creations with more detailed shapes and patterns being used more and more to continue to challenge us.

Many of the used denim jeans we use were formerly acid washed, ravaged, aged, bleached and stonewashed. This distressed worn denim brings another dimension to our creations. Crinkled sections taken from the knee of worn denim jeans also add character to our creations.

Our creations are currently finished with a double stitch that uses blue, white, or traditional orange. Used since 1873 this traditional orange thread was used to sew Levi Strauss blue jeans to match the copper rivets that doubled the durability of the jeans at that time.

We do not use any chemicals in the production of our creations and we never use new denim fabric pieces. Our creations are made from used denim jeans previously worn by people from the USA!

Imperfections and shading and even discoloration are acceptable in our products but we do screen for holes or tears not acceptable in our products.

The orientation of the Worn in USA Logo is usually stitched on the lower left if you are facing the Tapestry or Quilt.

The top stitch or double stitch is the last finishing step that completes are creations. Below shows 3 examples of actual double stitch using 3 of the popular colors we use.
